Citroen Ensures C5 Aircross Concept Will Enter Production Stage

JAKARTA - Citroen confirmed that the next generation of C5 Aircross is almost ready to be launched to the market by presenting a new design as well as marking further steps to the era of electric vehicles (EVs).

Citroen's Head of Design, Pierre Leclercq, said the production version of the C5 Aircross Concept would have a radical form and have now entered the 95 percent phase into the production stage.

"We are taking designs for the production car, providing improvements, and will be ready for production," Leclercq said as quoted by Autocar, Thursday, January 16.

Some time ago, this French manufacturer exhibited the C5 Aircross Concept at the Paris Motor Show 2024 event while strengthening brand commitments to compete in segment-C SUV classes globally.

Leclercq said one of the main goals of the existence of the concept is to show how the Citroen medium SUV can be distinguished from other Stellantis brands such as Peugeot, Vauxhall, and DS, despite sharing the same platform.

"Because we share the same platform, we try to have vehicles that really match the values of Citroen, namely the family space, functionality, and comfort," added Leclercq.

Introduced for the first time or world premiere, Citroatur C5 Aircross is specially designed for families where it offers a wide, comfortable and modern interior. Moreover, it is equipped with many modern features that create a balance between character and accessibility.

This car is the first to be built based on the STLA Medium platform owned by the Stellantis Group, which prioritizes flexibility and is supported by sophisticated systems both in terms of connectivity and infotainment.

This SUV is claimed to come by combining aerodynamic performance, character and design. The long forms of masculine, line running, and back overhang are optimized to increase airflow and reduce barriers while driving.

Citro! C5 Aircross Concept is estimated to be able to cover a distance of 30 km further on the expressway in electric mode compared to the previous generation Citro! C5 Aircross.
