Get A Positive Response, Honda Gives A Sign Of Selling Step WGN In Indonesia

JAKARTA - At the 2024 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS), PT Honda Prospect Motor (HPM) showed off the Honda Step WGN, the MPV five medium-sized doors that have been sold in the outside market.

Not only that, the minivan is one of the hybrid vehicle lines sold by Honda in the outside market including Japan and has the potential for attractive mobility options for Indonesian consumers.

Six months since being exhibited in Indonesia, how is the certainty regarding the Honda Step WGN model?

Sales & Marketing and After Sales Director of HPM, Yusak Billy said his party had introduced this model in various regions and had received a positive response.

"We have brought the Honda Step WGN to exhibitions in various regions including a series of Honda e:Technology City Tour events, where the consumer response has so far been very positive," Billy said when contacted by VOI, Thursday, January 16.

He also gave a signal that this model has the potential to enliven the Indonesian market. However, Billy did not want to reveal the certainty of the time because his party needed to consider several things before Step WGN was marketed.

"This makes us take the launch even more seriously in Indonesia. However, regarding the launch time, we will adapt it to the right strategy and moments, and continue to monitor market developments," explained Billy.

In Japan, this van-shaped car is a direct competitor to Toyota Vexy and Nissan Serena.

By design, Step WGN has a more brainy design than his brother such as Freed or Odyssey, but is more minimal with spoilers on front and on both sides.

The interior is equipped with a number of qualified equipment for family needs, such as an 11.4-inch floating infotainment screen, a 15-inch screen for passengers, a captain seat in the second row, and a foot support below.

This van is equipped with a 2.0 liter Atkinson-cycle 2.0 liter engine combined with a hybrid e:HEV system developed by Honda, so that it is able to emit up to 182 dk of power and the torque reaches 315 Nm.
