BYD Denza Z9 Launches In China, Take A Peek At The Specifications

JAKARTA - BYD, through its premium brand, Denza, launched a luxury Z9, a relative of the Z9GT hatchback launched last September.

Citing from the CNevpost page, Monday, November 18, the launch of Z9 was officially launched at the Guangzhou Auto Show 2024 exhibition, and offered a plug in hybrid (PHEV) variant and a pure BEV electric vehicle.

The launch of Denza Z9 also marks the success of NEV production (new energy vehicles) to 10 million BYD.

By design, this electric sedan offers a luxurious impression that there are not many sharp curves in the body which make it look elegant. In dimensions, Denza Z9 PHEV measures a length of 5,235 mm, a width of 1,990 mm, and a height of 1,500 with a wheelbase of 3,125 mm.

Meanwhile, the pure electricity version has a length of 5,180 mm, a width of 1,990 mm, a height of 1,500 and a wheelbase of 3,125 mm.

In other detail, the Z9 PHEV denza is offered in 3 variants with prices ranging from 334,800 yuan or around Rp733 million, and the highest is 414,800 yuan or around 908 million.

Meanwhile, for the purely electric car variant, there are two variants that are priced starting from 354,800 yuan or around 776 million, and the highest is at 384,800 yuan or Rp. 842 million.

Like Z9GT, Z9 comes in standard with e3 BYD technology, which can be seen as a smaller version of the e4 technology of new energy vehicle manufacturers (NEVs) made for ultra luxury cars. E3 is based on Xuanji architecture and presents independent driving.

The front motorbike of Denza Z9 BEV has a peak power of 230 kW and a peak torque of 430 Nm. The two rear motors have a peak power of 240 kW and a peak torque of 360 Nm.

The powertrain allows vehicles to accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 3.4 seconds. The Z9 BEV is powered by a BYD blaze battery with a capacity of 100 kWh and has a CLTC range of 630 km.

Meanwhile, the front motorbike Z9 PHEV has a peak power of 200 kW and a peak torque of 315 Nm. The two rear motors have a peak power of 220 kW and a peak torque of 360 Nm.

Although the motorpower is slightly lower, Z9 PHEV gets an additional 2.0 T engine with 152 kW of power and 325 Nm of torque. With this powertrain, Z9 PHEV is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/hour within 3.6 seconds.

The Z9 PHEV is powered by a 38.5 kWh battery pack with a 201-kilometer battery range and a combined range of 1,101 kilometers with full fuel tanks and full charging.
