Launching Next Year, New Generation Toyota Corolla Uses A Hybrid System From BYD?

JAKARTA - Toyota Corolla has entered its 12th generation which was introduced in 2018. Because it has been quite a long time, Toyota needs to release its newest generation so that the product looks fresher and more presentable.

Therefore, the 13th generation iconic model will be present in the future and will be launched in the world premiere around 2025.

Launching from Japanese media BestCar, Thursday, October 17, the latest generation of Corolla will be released in 2025 as a model in 2026. Another interesting thing is that this car is part of the company's multi-pathway strategy plan. Thus, there is a possibility that it will be equipped with a new hybrid system.

This car will be powered by the latest 1.5 liter 4-cylinder alert engine introduced in May. In addition, there is an opportunity that Corolla will have Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) and Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV) systems.

Although the details of the specifications have not been disclosed, it is estimated that the engine will have up to 130 ps of power combined with a 100 ps electric motor. If the turbo option is added, the power can reach 180 ps.

In addition, there is the potential that the latest Corolla will come with the latest plug-in hybrid (PHEV) system from BYD. This can achieve thermal efficiency of 46.06 percent for a 1.5 liter engine. Furthermore, its total cruising power combines gasoline with batteries as well as impressive up to 2,100 km.

However, another potential is for Toyota to develop a new Dynamic Force system that has better efficiency than the current generation or even better than BYD. As an illustration, current generation drivers have 41 percent of thermal efficiency.

Speaking of design, the latest generation of Corolla will adopt Toyota's current design language which has been used on Prius and Camry. It is likely that the model will be present in several versions, one of which is a fairly popular wagon in Europe and other markets.
