BYD Expands Its Electric Car Line In Brazil, Model Yuan Pro Officially Launches

JAKARTA - A well-known automotive manufacturer from China, namely BYD, has added to the ranks of electric car models in the Brazilian market. They launched the Yuan Pro or known as the Yuan Up model in the Chinese market.

Quoting from the CNevpost page, Saturday, September 14, 2024, the presence of the Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) Yuan Pro makes it the 11th model in the country.

Previously, BYD brought various models in Brazil, both pure electric vehicle models or hybrid vehicles. In that country, there are a total of eight models, including Dolphin, Seal, to Yuan or known as Atto 3, of which all three are also present in Indonesia.

Closer to BYD Yuan Pro, this one car is an SUV that comes with a futuristic design and is built based on e-Platform 3.0. This car is claimed to have extraordinary and well-known efficient security.

In dimensions, this car has a length of 4,310 mm, a width of 1,830 mm, and a height of 1,675 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,620 mm. The Yuan Pro offers four exterior color choices including the malachite darkcyan, time gray, skiing white, milky gray green. Meanwhile, there is only one interior color choice, namely creating and brown.

"Yuan Pro is meant to be the first electric vehicle for many young Brazilians," BYD said in a statement at the launch.

Regarding the distance, this car comes with a range of 380 km in the NEDC count. The Yuan Pro is priced at 182,800 Brazilian reals or around Rp506 million.

BYD in Brazil continues to innovate, even the Chinese brand has managed to open 100 dealers' networks by May 2024. They are targeting to add a network with a total of 250 dealers by the end of this year.

Last year, BYD and the Brazilian Government also announced to set up a large production site with three factories. Later, the factory will induce electric trucks to passenger vehicles.

Specifically for passenger vehicle lines, the factory can accommodate annual assembly of up to 150,000 units.
