Wuling Introduces Hongguang EV, MPV Electricity At Affordable Prices In China

JAKARTA - Recently, the joint venture company SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW) opened a pre-order period on the EV version of the Wuling Hongguang model for the Chinese market. Thus, this series offers pure EV and ICE versions.

Reported by CarNewsChina, Saturday, September 7, Hongguang EV underwent a design change on the front by providing a rounder look with a covered grip.

Then, the logo of the brand in the middle of the grip is now moved to the front hood. The back tail is made simpler with a square-shaped overall display.

This MPV-shaped car has a length dimension of 4,515 mm, a width of 1,725 mm, a height of 1,790 mm, and a wheelbase that reaches 2,850 mm. This makes it a little longer than the previously sold version.

For the interior, this car is offered in two different layouts such as five seats (2+3) and six seats (2+2+2).

Furthermore, the second row seat can be folded in a five-seater version. The same approach is also made on the third row seat for the sixth version of the seat which gives a maximum baggage volume of 2.8 m3.

The interior is equipped with an air conditioner outlet in the form of a rectangular with a number of control knops and a flat-bottomed steering wheel that is more contemporary.

In terms of safety, the Wuling Hongguang EV is equipped with an anti-lock braking system (ABS), an electronic brake force distribution system, and an airbag for the driver as an optional feature. The manufacturer also offers an 8-inch floating center control screen.

Other features include key fob, driver side window dip with just one touch, 12V on-board power supply, and radio.

Treating this car is a 75 kW electric motor with a torque of up to 180 Nm in collaboration with a 32.6 kWh lithium-iron phosphate battery. Thus, this can provide a distance of up to 300 km in one charge.

The battery is suitable for use with DC fast charging which can charge from 30 to 80 percent in 30 minutes. With an AC charger device, it can charge from 20 to 100 percent in about 9 hours.

SGMW offers this car with three different color choices, namely Polar White, Clear Sky Silver, and Tungsten Steel Gray.

Although the price has not been disclosed, it is estimated that Wuling Hongguang EV is sold for 69,800 72,800 yuan (Rp152.2 million to Rp158.7 million) or more expensive than pure gasoline for 46,500 60,900 yuan (Rp101.4 million to Rp132.8 million). This car will be officially launched at the end of this year.
