TANGERANG - Smart has officially put its nails back into the Indonesian market through the 2024 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) with the #3 model at ICE BSD, Tangerang.

The return of smart to Indonesia marks the start of a new era that focuses on providing a premium smart electric car driving experience and accelerating the transition to sustainable mobility.

Although not yet selling will sell the #3 model in the near future, it is stated that the acceptance of this brand in Indonesia is very good.

Sales & Marketing Director of PT Inchcape Indomobil Distribution Indonesia, Kariyanto Hardjosoemarto, said that many GIIAS visitors know this brand, especially young people because they get some information from outside.

"According to our survey, surprisingly many young people are familiar with Smart brands and they have followed this from outside youtube and even asked the #1 product when it was launched, this is a good signal for this brand," said Kariyanto during a media conference session, Monday, July 22.

Despite information about the price range #3, Kariyanto explained that his party will try to launch a Smart brand at the end of the year and will fill the new segment in Indonesia.

"We are trying to launch before the end of the year properly for Smart with a new segment," added Kariyanto.

He also explained that this brand will fill the premium EV segment in Indonesia but at a more affordable price compared to the Mercedes-Benz electric car.

"For range, the Smart is under A-Class. But when compared to EVs, we are more into the premium segment," explained Kariyanto.

Smart arrived at the Indonesian market by cooperating with Inchcape as a vehicle distributor and preparing to compete with several brands amid electrification.

At GIIAS, this electric vehicle brand introduces two #3 variants, namely Premium and Brabus. Each type has a number of advantages.
