JAKARTA - BYD recently officially launched its first M6 Multi-Purpose Electric Vehicle (MPEV) in Indonesia, at the 2024 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS).

The car is designed to meet the needs of family mobility, by offering a familiar and modern Aerodynamic Dragon Face design that brings performance and joy to every driver and passenger.

From VOI's observation, this one car caught the attention of many GIIAS visitors. So what are the full specifications?

Exterior Design

The exterior design BYD M6 carries the Aerodynamic Dragon Face Design by combining classical and modern elements that function to optimize airflows while traveling.

The Aerodynamic Dragon Face Design also reflects the elegant side and aesthetic simplicity of the new generation of BYD who pay attention to detailed details.

Starting from the firm lines on the body of the car giving a strong and sporty impression, the headlights and back that give a modern and futuristic touch to each type, for the M6 Standard using Halogen.

Meanwhile, M6 Superior, and M6 Superior Captain use LED. The 18-inch rim design with a ground clearance as high as 17 cm also adds to the sporty and elegant impression on BYD M6.

Interior M6

Entering the cabin, BYD M6 comes with a seating configuration for seven people and six people.

The material presented in this car is claimed to be solid and of high quality throughout the cabin, giving a luxurious and classy impression.

In addition, advanced interface systems and entertainment systems provide convenience and comfort for drivers and passengers.

There is also a panoramic sunset (optional) that makes the cabin look more spacious and luxurious, the design of ergonomic seats that follow the curves of the body while sitting also gives a comfortable impression.

Features

Many modern features are embedded in BYD M6, such as Intelligence Cockpit on the center console having modern and elegant gear movement levers, adding a touch of subtle beauty.

Equipped with a 12.8-inch rotating screen, the M6 opens a new journey on a smart trip.

To accommodate the need for time efficiency when using a vehicle, the M6 battery can be recharged in just 30 minutes thanks to the impressive 170kW DC charging capacity.

This fast and efficient process allows charging from 30 percent state of charge (SOC) to 80 percent, thus providing sufficient additional power for maximum convenience and comfort.

Not only that, there are also leading safety features such as the ABS braking system with EBD, electronic stability control system (ESC), and 6 airbags. These features ensure the safety and comfort of families while driving.

Performance

BYD M6 comes with a battery capacity of 71.8 kWh, and a driving range of 530 km. M6 is powered by a maximum torque of 310Nm which maximizes driving performance.

The VtoL Mobile Power Station feature is here to facilitate electricity needs as a means of family entertainment inspired by RV users.

In addition, M6 also has an ultra safe flash battery that is resistant to extreme conditions of up to 300 degrees Celsius and overcharging 260 percent without causing a fire or explosion.

Prices and variants

The electric car that entered the MPEV (Multi-Purpose Electric Vehicle) segment comes in three variants: M6 Standard at a price of IDR 379 million, M6 Super Captain IDR 419 million, and M6 Superior IDR 429 million.

BYD M6 is also available in four colors including Crystal White, Ink Stone Blue, Cosmos Black, and Harbor Gray.
