First Outside Mainland China, New Zeekr MPV 009 Released In Hong Kong

JAKARTA - A car manufacturer from China, namely Zeekr, will launch the 709 Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) which was renewed in Hong Kong on 19 July.

Citing from the CNevpost page, Monday, July 15, the launch of the Renewable Zeekr 009 in Hong Kong marks the first time the brand will host a new vehicle launch event outside mainland China.

"On July 19, Zeekr 009 will only be launched globally in Hong Kong," the company said.

Zeekr said that the updated 009 for the six-seater model will be fully literated, and will also launch seven new seats for the MPV.

As is known, Zeekr 009 is the second model of the Chinese brand after 001, and its delivery began in February 2023. Meanwhile, on January 15, Zeekr 009 officially launched. A few months or April 19, Zeekr launched the 009 Grand as another option to target the luxury car market.

"The new upcoming 009 Zeekr will be available in six seats and seven seats, with a 140 kWh battery and single-motor specifications that have the furthest range of all pure electric MPVs," said a Zeekr spokesperson.

In detail, both regular Zeekr 009 variants come with 116 kWh and 140 kWh batteries with a CLTC range of 702 km and 822 km, respectively. The Zeekr 009 Grand comes with a 108 kWh battery with a CLTC range of 702 km.

For the new Zeekr 009, it will pack a 108 kWh battery that supports 5C fast charging that can charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 11.5 minutes, according to the company. In addition, it also comes with a new suspension standard, and its acceleration of 0-100 km/hour only takes 3.9 seconds. The model will be powered by two Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chips with the AI AI EVA voice assistant.

As is known, Zeekr 009 itself will be present in Indonesia this year along with Zeekr X. Both models are also available for preorder in Thailand in March 2024. The presence of the two models is in response to the increasing demand for premium smart electric vehicles in the Southeast Asian market.
