JAKARTA - Leapmotor is one of the new players in the global automotive industry, especially in the electric vehicle market (EV). However, this Chinese manufacturer dared to make a breakthrough by expanding its market to Europe.

As previously reported by VOI, Leapmotor together with Stellantis established a joint venture for Leapmotor International BV by introducing the T03 model as EV at affordable prices. In addition, the company also plans to produce a second model on a blue continent called A12.

Unlike T03, the A12 model has not been launched to the public. However, the car has been caught on camera several times being tested wrapped in a camouflage sticker. Now the MPV-style car interior has leaked to the timeline.

Launching from CarNewsChina, Tuesday, June 25, the interior resembles a C10 that shows a large infotainment display installed in the middle as well as a large LCD instrument panel for drivers.

Then, the steering wheel has a double-stop design and the center console is connected to a wireless phone charger pad.

While on the exterior, the Leapmotor A12 has low-intake water on the front and rear wing at the top. Unfortunately, the other part still looks vague because the MPV is covered by camouflage.

The model is expected to come in purely electric (EV) versions and Extended-Range EV versions at a price of 100,000 yuan (Rp225.9 million). The A12 Leapmotor is likely to appear at the Guangzhou Auto Show in November.

It is likely that the manufacturer will also assemble this model at Stellantis' Tychy, Poland factory. This multinational company chose the facility as the first production base for Leapmotor because the cost is cheaper than in Italy.

Meanwhile, Leapmotor also plans to C10 from China and export it to the blue continent as an early stage of this brand navigating the market. It was also mentioned that the SUV could be sold at a higher price.

Since the European Union has set an import duty policy for imported vehicles from China, the manufacturer gets an additional 21 percent tariff because Leapmotor partners with Stellantis as a joint venture.
