Hyundai Holds Recalls In Kona And I30 Sedans In Australia, This Is The Cause

JAKARTA - Bad news came from Hyundai. The reason is, the two models in Australia consist of Kona's gasoline version and i30 Sedan affected by the recall in Australia. It is known that 946 vehicles were affected.

Drive reported, Saturday, June 15, the affected vehicle is a 2024 model. However, it is possible that the model in the previous year was also affected by this problem.

The Australian Department of Infrastructure said the issue was due to potential production errors in the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve sensor section that may have been exposed to flux solder contamination during assembly.

Local authorities also added that this could cause a short circuit in the sensor resulting in the loss of driving power while driving, increasing the risk that endangers drivers and other road users.

"The loss of movement while driving can increase the risk of accidents causing injury or death for vehicle passengers and/or other road users," the Infrastructure Department wrote.

The owner of the affected vehicle will be contacted by Hyundai's official dealer to schedule a meeting agreement to check and replace the device for free.

Previously, this ginseng manufacturer also recalled the Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 models in Indonesia in early May. This is due to the software update of the Integrated Charge Control Unit (ICCU) component on Hyundai IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6, as an effort to improve the quality of battery charging on electric vehicles to be more optimal.

Regarding this, Hyundai ensures that the checking process until the work only lasts about 20 minutes and is carried out by certified technicians from global Hyundai.
