Success With EV6 GT, Kia Confirms EV9 And EV5 High-Sex Version

JAKARTA The global automotive industry is being enlivened by electric vehicles from a number of well-known manufacturers. Not only environmentally friendly, several brands also launch it in high-performance versions.

For example, Hyundai launched Ioniq 5N which has more than 600 dk of power and 748 Nm of torque. Previously, Kia also took this approach with EV6 GT which can pump 577 dk of power and 740 Nm of torque.

However, Kia will not stop innovating in presenting other high-performance EVs. In fact, the brand from South Korea has confirmed that it will be present in the next few years.

"The GT variant is designed to build more desire and attract more attention," said Marketing Director Kia Europe David Hilbert, quoted from Top Gear, Monday, May 27.

He also added that there will be more than one high-performance EV model with Kia discourse in the future, both the EV9 GT and EV5 GT models will also be present on the market.

"Instant trends from EVs give you acceleration and driving dynamics thanks to special platforms, low centers of gravity, and wheels pushed to the corners of the car," Hilbert added.

The company also confirmed that it will present the GT version of EV3 with all wheels moving (AWD) in 2026. This is quite surprising considering that the standard version was only launched some time ago.

"The GT variant will never be a large number of sellers because they are a special product, and frankly, our standard EV performance is pretty good," explained Hilbert.

This is certainly not mere talk. In February, Kia EV9 GT was caught on camera testing on a snowy Swedish track. The following month, this large-body SUV was being tested on the Nurburgring Nordschleife track, Germany.

In addition, EV5 GT is also seen being tested in China with a more sporting and aggressive look. Just like the EV6 GT, a distinctive sporty element is also displayed in this model, such as an aggressive front and back bumper and there is a small back wing floating at the top.
