JAKARTA - The State Electricity Company (PLN) brought a hydrogen car based on the Hyundai Nexo, at the PERIKLINDO Electric Vehicle Show (PEVS) 2024 which took place from April 30 to May 5.

From VOI's observation, this one car attracted the attention of many visitors. How not, the car is embedded with a hydrogen driver who is very environmentally friendly, especially equipped with a typical PLN sticker with a yellow blue color.

Of course not a few are curious about the specifications, so what is it like?

This car has a hydrogen tank embedded at the bottom weighing 6.3 kg, with a maximum pressure of 700 bars. This was revealed by Andi, one of the PLN Stand guards.

"The distance can reach 600-700 km in full charging," Andi told VOI, in the exhibition area.

Meanwhile, the hydrogen filling part is on the back, in contrast to gas or electric cars in general. This one car looks equipped with small charging like gas filling.

More details for fuel consumption, with 1 kg of hydrogen for a distance of 100 km, with a power output of 154 to 163 ps.

"For filling it is also cheap, it is only Rp. 500 to 600 rupiah for 1 km," he added.

Andi said PLN itself had inaugurated the Hydrogen Refueling Station (HRS) or the first hydrogen vehicle charging station in Indonesia located in Senayan.

Quoting from the official PLN website, Acting Director General of EBTKE of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Jisman P. Hutajulu explained that the HRS is proof of Indonesia's commitment to the energy transition. The use of hydrogen as an alternative energy for the transportation sector is able to significantly reduce carbon emissions. As is known, the transportation sector contributes 44 percent of total carbon emissions in Indonesia.

"Hydrogen plays a strategic role in the energy transition. Especially in the transportation sector, hydrogen-based vehicles do not have emissions. Hydrogen development is proof of Indonesia's commitment to expanding access to technology that is easily accessible and clean," said Jisman.
