JAKARTA - Mercedes-Benz are reportedly preparing to bring significant changes to S-Class and EQS.

Sourced from Car and Driver who was re-vocated from CarBuzz, Thursday, April 4, this is part of a manufacturer's plan to revise the planning of an electric vehicle (EV) strategy according to market wishes.

For the S-Class model, the first facelift will come with significant changes. Front and rear facilities will be redesigned with the interior getting improvements.

The inside will feature the latest dashboard with upgraded Hyperscreen and the screen for passengers is used as an optional. Steering wheel will have wheels and buttons that make it easier for users, replacing current touch controls.

This Facelift is expected to come in 2029 with a light refresher. Furthermore, in 2033 the S-Class will come with the latest generation. This follows the plan of the rival, Audi, who also extended his life from A8.

Meanwhile, Mercedes must develop EQS to provide added value to this model. Although this vehicle is known for its advanced convenience and features, this limousine-style car is not very attractive to customers, so not many buy it.

In the coming months, the EQS will get a larger battery measuring 118 kWh, with an Executive back seat for the upper class, and will be presented with subtle changes.

Then, this model platform will be replaced from 400V to 800V configurations that contribute to increasing longer travel distances by faster charging.

This new model will carry the MB.EA-L platform and feature a more upright and luxurious goal inspired by the Mercedes model in the past.

The latest EQS will have a number of components to be introduced such as the eATS 2.0 electric motor, two acceleration transmission, and chemical cells from the MMA-based electric model.

Manufacturers set the EQS replacement in 2028 and are expected to come with more traditional designs, more sophisticated materials, and multiply options as offered on Rolls-Royce.
