Xiaomi SU7, Electric Car As Strong As Submarine Materials That Sold Out In China

JAKARTA - Xiaomi SU7 since its official release on Thursday, March 28, and the announcement that the price was reported to have received a very positive response from the public in China.

Previously, Lei Jun, founder and CEO of Xiaomi, on his personal X account, stated that SU7 was designed with a very sturdy skeleton structure made with armored cages of steel-aluminum alloys, using 90.1 percent of a high-power steel-aluminum alloy. This means that the melting power can reach 2000MPa, approaching the level of material used in submarines.

But apart from being sturdy and rich in technology, the main focus is the price. This first electric car from Xiaomi is priced at an aggressive price, cheaper at around 4.000 dollars compared to the Tesla Model 3 or starting at 215.900 yuan equivalent to IDR 482.4 million.

Many photos circulating on social media, especially Weibo and Twitter/X, shared a number of photos where Xiaomi stores were filled with visitors who were enthusiastic about seeing this new electric car. In fact, Teslarati reported, March 31, it is also said that all production cars for 2024 SU7 have been sold out by consumers.

Back about the photos circulating on social media showing crowds in Xiaomi stores throughout China after the launch of SU7. Several shops displaying this electric sedan were even filled with queues of potential buyers. This scene reminded a long line at Tesla stores in China in early 2019, when the Model 3 first appeared. At that time, the Tesla ordering system was overwhelmed by a surge in enthusiasts.

Xiaomi SU7 was created to compete with the Tesla Model 3, one of Tesla's best electric sedans in China. But Lei Jun even dared to complain with the Tesla Model 3, even claiming SU7 specifications exceeded 90 percent of the Model 3.

For dimensions, the SU7 is slightly larger than the Tesla Model 3, and the distance from the initial variant is only 700 kilometers ahead of the standard 3rd Model. However, the CEO acknowledged that Xiaomi may still need 3-5 years to catch up with Tesla's powertrain efficiency.
