Porsche 911 Hybrid Will Be Known This Summer

JAKARTA - Automotive lovers must be familiar with rumors, leaks, and hot discussions about the Porsche 911 hybrid over the years.

This legendary sports car is predicted to have a hybrid version, but its presence seems to always be on the verge of hope. Now, the long wait has finally been answered. Porsche officially announced that the 911 hybrid will not only be a reality, but is scheduled to be introduced this summer.

The increase in 911 products is planned for early summer, including high-performance hybrid drivers. Once again we implemented the technology in the series production model we got from the world of motorcyclesport. And our customers can look forward to further technological innovation in the same field, "said Porsche CEO Oliver Blume, in a statement from the company, quoted Thursday, March 13.

However, what does Porsche 911 hybrid look like with this "original to the world of motorcycle racing" technology look like? Last year, reported by The Drive, March 13, Blume said that 911 hybrids would not be plug-in hybrids, although it did not specify the details of the powertrain. Rumors circulated that this car would be similar to Corvette E-Ray. Namely, carrying a small battery and electric motor to move the front wheels, while flat-six twin-turbo engines remain in charge of the rear wheels (certainly different from Corvette using V8 engines). Porsches that have large shares in Rimac electric hypercar companies, are predicted to utilize their battery technology for 911 hybrids.

Interestingly, Porsche's press release also mentions their commitment to three types of powertrain: an efficient [internal combustion engine/ICE], a plug-in hybrid that promises attractive performance, and an innovative full-electric model.

So, is a high-performance hybrid classified as an efficient ICE? Despite the details of the specifications, the presence of 911 hybrids marks an important moment for Porsche. Currently, almost all Porsche models have a choice of full hybrid or electric powertrain, both marketed and under development.

Although it has not officially launched, the presence of the electric Porsche Boxster has been announced earlier than the 911 hybrid, and the prototype of the car has been seen undergoing testing.
