BYD Opens Pre Order For The Seal Electricity Sedan For The Indian Market, The Price Is Quite High

JAKARTA - BYD seems to be just waiting for the right time to launch the Seal electric sedan for the Indian market, as evidenced several times caught on camera testing the road.

Citing the Carnewschina page, Tuesday, February 13, Seal's presence will add to the Chinese brand portfolio in the Indian market which was previously filled by Atto 3 and e6.

Although there has been no official announcement of when the electric car will launch, it is reported that several dealers have started receiving pre-orders for this electric sedan, a milestone for BYD, which has entered the Indian market from 2021.

However, as an imported model or CBU BYD Seal, it is certain that it will be subject to a high tariff, so that the pre-order price at the dealer is around 5 million rupees or around Rp938 million.

The price certainly far exceeds the selling value in the domestic market, where for the Chinese market it is only priced at around 189,800 yuan or around Rp411 million, reflecting the cost of exports making the price much higher.

As additional information, BYD Seal is the world's first mass production vehicle equipped with Cell to Body (CTB) technology, built on state-of-the-art e-platform 3.0.

This one car has an iTAC torque control system and a large battery of 82.56 kWh. The dual vehicle motorcycle produces a combined output of 523 hp and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/hour in just 3.8 seconds, with a WLTP-certified range of up to 520 km with a single charge.

The introduction of BYD Seal to the Indian market represents a significant expansion of BYD's global footprint, especially in countries that increasingly adhere to electric mobility. Indeed, India is one of the destinations of the market for many well-known car manufacturers.

Meanwhile, the price of the Indonesian BYD Seal market has not yet been disclosed and it could be that the BYD 2024 IIMS event will announce it.
