BMW Spreads I5 Touring Teaser On Social Media, Here's The Form

JAKARTA - BMW will add to its various electric car choices, now deploying a new i5 Touring teaser which is a wagon version of the total electric series 5, on its official Instagram page @bwm.

"The BMWi family is growing, be prepared for a new BMW i5 Touring of 100 percent electricity," the tweet read.

There is still not much information obtained, but it is hoped that this electric wagon version will still get the same powertrain as the i5 Sedan, including eDrive40 with an electric motor installed behind with a power of 340 PS (335 hp or 250 kW) and a 430 Nm torque, powered by a lithium-ion battery with a gross energy capacity of 84.3 kWh (net) 81.2 kWh.

Meanwhile, quoted from the Paultan page, it is also estimated that it will be equipped with a performance variant in the form of M60 xDrive which gets two electric motors to drive all wheels and a total system output of 601 PS (593 hp or 442 kW) and 820 Nm. This uses the same battery as eDrive40, although the range is slightly smaller.

Given that Touring will be heavier than the sedan, performance and reach are expected to be slightly different, the i5 sedan baggage room (490 liters) is also smaller than the usual 5 series (520 liters), and it is estimated that the same will happen in i5 Touring and 5 Series Touring.
