This Tesla Model 3 And BYD Seal Competitors Will Soon Enter Malaysia, When Will Indonesia?

JAKARTA - Great Wall Motor Malaysia made a breakthrough by distributing teasers for the presence of their latest electric model for the Malaysian market through the Facebook page.

The short video reveals a fastback sedan of Ora 07 which will soon enter Malaysia's official market, and is ready to compete with Tesla Model 3 and BYD Seal.

Quoted from Paultan, Thursday, January 18, the post provides indications that this electric fastback sedan will soon become an official part of the Malaysian market, challenging other well-known electric vehicles.

The tweet on GWM's official Facebook page states, "AVigating style, adventure, and innovation with an impressive and diverse GWM fleet. Each GWM model is an invitation to an exciting new chapter of exploration. Ready to go with more? Go up and over with GWM."

As is known, this car has been introduced in Thailand under the name Lightning Cat or Grand Cat. Supported by the Lemon E platform, Ora 07 comes in two variants, namely the Long Range and Performance variants, with prices ranging from 1,499 million baths or around Rp657 million.

The two variants sold in Thailand are equipped with 83.5 kWh lithium ternary batteries, driving 204 PS and 340 Nm motorcycles in the Long Range variant, while Performance has dual AWD arrangements with 408 PS power and 680 Nm torque.

With the electric motor driving above, Ora 07 is claimed to be capable of accelerating 0-100 km/h in 4.3 seconds, with the highest speed reaching 180 km/hour. The Long Range variant has a range of up to 640 km on NEDC testing standards, while Performa reaches 550 km.

Regarding charging, Ora 07 can be recharged up to 30-80 percent within 30 minutes of charging DC, while the vehicle-to-load capability allows for powering accessories from cars.

Ora 07 presents various driving modes, including Eco, Well Being, Normal, Sport, and Individual in the Long Range fundamental variant. While Performance adds a further Sport+ mode. Both variants are equipped with similar safety features, including six airbags, 360-degree camera, adaptive crude control, front and rear collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, and various other safety features.

GWM has stepped into the Indonesian market with the Ora 03 model present at GIIAS 2023. With the presence of BYD Seal in the Indonesian market, we can look forward to the possibility of Ora 07's presence to further enliven the electric car market in the country.
