JAKARTA - Lancer Evolution, one of Mitsubishi's iconic models that has made history in the World Rally Championship (WRC), is again in the spotlight with the presence of a limited edition, namely Lancer Evolution VI of Tommi Makinen Hospital Monte Carlo Edition which was released in 2001.

The car was produced in a limited number in honor of Mitsubishi racer Tommi Makinen, who won the Monte Carlo rally for three consecutive years in 1999, 2000, and 2001.

Reporting from CarBuzz, Wednesday, December 27, one of the five units available from this edition of the car has been listed in the 'Iconic Auctioneers' auction. With a real rally car-like appearance and limited unitary status, Lancer Evolution VI of Tommi Makinen Hospital Monte Carlo Edition has the potential to reach high auction prices.

The peculiarities of this car lie not only in the appearance and history of rally, but also at low distances recorded on its odometer, which is only 5,627 km from the previous owner, making it similar to the new vehicle.

The car is equipped with a lower suspension in accordance with the Monte Carlo rally tuning, upgraded exhaust, new Electronic Control Unit (ECU), redesigned front bumper, and 17-inch WRC Enkei rims.

Lancer Evolution VI of Tommi Makinen Hospital 'Monte Carlo' Edition also adopts the system of the WRC car driven by Tommi Makinen with the Ralliart UK Stage 1 package, providing better performance and improved capabilities from the standard version.

Pegas Eibach became the standard for improving car stability, while the near-ratio gyrboks and front-helical differentials were in accordance with the specifications of the Group N rally car.

Powered by a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder engine with a turbocharged track, this car is capable of generating 276 dk of power and 373 Nm of torque. For driving experience like a rally racer, Mitsubishi pinned the front seat of Recaro SR on the interior of this car.

The auction for this model is scheduled for February 24, 2024, with current auction prices listed between 100,000 and 120,000 (equivalent to IDR 1.9 billion to IDR 2.3 billion).

With this scarcity of cars and a number of interesting features offered, it is likely that the Lancer Evolution will sell at a price that exceeds these estimates.
