Toyota Introduces Veloz X Urban, Ready To Move Mitsubishi Xpander Cross Hegemony

JAKARTA - Since it was first introduced as MPV, Toyota Veloz has shown a more modern, sporty and daring design, especially in terms of placing large lights and grips. However, the manufacturer has just released a new model that has significant differences.

Recently, the Japanese manufacturer launched Veloz X Urban, a car aimed at the LSUV marketplace or Veloz's 'Cross' version for the Thai market. The presence of this model marks the company's efforts to provide more vehicle options to meet utility needs.

Despite being in the same segment as Rush, Veloz X Urban is an attractive choice for customers who want an affordable SUV with a front wheel drive (FWD). Similar to its competitors, Mitsubishi Xpander Cross and Hyundai Stargazer X, this car comes with several changes.

Reporting from Top Gear Philippines, Tuesday, November 7, the bottom of the front bumper has been redesigned to reduce the risk of friction. Changes are also applied to the back featuring a unique display. Flare feder stands out more with additional cladding on the door.

The manufacturer has also increased the ground clearance height. If the standard Veloz has 190 cm, Veloz X Urban will slightly increase to 205 mm. To add to the strong and sporty impression, this model is equipped with a unique five-barreled rim that resembles a propeller.

Despite the significant changes to the outside, the performance of this car is maintained as the standard version. Veloz X Urban is powered by a 1.5 liter engine Dual VVT-I with CVT transmission capable of generating up to 105 dk of power and 138 Nm of torque.

If this car is released in Indonesia, it can be an interesting alternative to replace Rush's position in the LSUV segment in this country. What's more, Toyota Veloz has achieved success with total sales of 1,426 units during the September 2023 period.

In Indonesia, Toyota Veloz is available in two transmission options, namely manual and automatic. The following is a list of Veloz prices as of November 2023: Toyota all new Veloz MT for IDR 288.7 million and Toyota all new Veloz CVT for IDR 304.4 million.
