Apart From Indonesia, Kia EV9 Will Also Debut In Malaysia

JAKARTA - With performances reminiscent of sports cars as well as advanced features and utilities, Kia EV9 has received global positive attention since its launch and is now ready to explore markets in various countries, including Malaysia.

Recently, in the upload of the Route Hunters Instagram account, Kia EV9 is seen in Glenmarie, Selangor, Malaysia, showing the possibility of market exploration in the country, reported by Paultan, Monday, August 7. A paper was seen attached to the back of the vehicle with the words "Kia Malaysia Sdn Bhd," signaling the possible involvement of the Malaysian Kia distributor in the introduction of this car in the Malaysian market.

It is estimated that Kia will offer a wide selection of seats for EV9 in Malaysia, including a second row seating with three seats, a seating base, and a relaxing seat.

This step shows Kia's commitment to bringing Kia EV9 to various countries in Southeast Asia. In addition, this SUV is also expected to make its debut in the Indonesian automotive industry, as required by Kia Indonesia's official teaser upload on Instagram regarding Kia EV9's presence at the 2023 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS).

By design, Kia EV9 has a firm line that gives a strong impression. The triangular and wheel arch detail that stands out to blend harmoniously with the body of the car, creating a strong appearance.

The EV9 front light features the innovative "Star Map Daytime running lights (DRL)," providing an interesting variation of the lighting pattern. On the back, the sleek taillight gives a striking touch.

The outside side of the car features a door and trim with a Black Kilap color, reinforced by a 19-inch rim as standard. The GT-Line S variant offers a larger 21-inch rim. The interior of the car also features a variety of interesting features.

Built on the same E-GMP platform as Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6, Kia EV9 has large dimensions with a length of 5,010 mm, a width of 1,980 mm, and a wheelbase of 3,100 mm.

Not only the display, Kia EV9 also offers impressive performance. The water variant is equipped with a 198 dk electric motor and 350 Nm torque, moving the rear wheel (RWD). Meanwhile, the GT-Line and GT-Line S variants use all-wheelers (AWD) driving, with peak power reaching 372 dk and 700 Nm torque.

In terms of batteries, the three EV9 variants have a battery capacity of 99.8 kWh, capable of exploring up to 540 km for the water variant. The top variant has a range of 495 km in one charge.

In the United States, Kia EV9's estimated price starts at $55,000 or around Rp.834.7 million. The SUV is scheduled to arrive at the dealers by the end of the year.
