Jokowi considers Jakarta to be too full. The government can't build a lot of things. Not to mention the pollution and traffic jam. As a result, Jokowi wants to build a new capital to replace Jakarta.

Jokowi wants to move it outside Java. The goal is so that the government's narrative of equitable development can run. As a result, Penajam Paser Utara was chosen. The location was then named IKN.

Jokowi's ambitious project is supported by many parties. Prabowo Subianto, for example. The Minister of Defense considers that IKN should not be stalled. The development must continue. IKN is considered to be able to bring great benefits in the future.

Different from the government, all Indonesian people are different. Many consider the development of IKN to be more harmful than beneficial. Moreover, Indonesia has just been hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. The government is asked to focus on economic recovery. Not building IKN.

Criticism also arose because the government did not have a solid funding scheme related to IKN. The development of IKN is considered to hinder other developments in Indonesia and instead IKN will destroy the ideals of equitable development.

Hashim is considered to be one of the people who have benefited greatly from the construction of the IKN. Hashim is considered to have benefited from land management in North Penajam Paser. He is also considered to have benefited from the clean water project at the IKN location.

"This is not a blessing, because the clean water project is not from the state budget. This is a private investment, the first phase is worth USD 330 million or maybe more because of inflation in 5 years.
