Basuki Hadimuljono Claims To Never Have A Holiday As Minister Of PUPR In Today's Memory, November 14, 2019

JAKARTA Memori hari ini, enam tahun yang lalu, 14 November 2019, Basuki Hadimuljono klaim tak pernah hari jadi Menteri Pekerjaan Umum dan Perumahan Rakyat (PUPR). Klaim itu hadir karena Basuki melihat dirinya tak jauh berbeda dengan Presiden Joko Widodo (Jokowi) yang tak kendali tanggal merah.

Previously, Basuki was known as an outstanding minister. Many development agendas that stalled from the previous regime were immediately addressed. This narrative makes the Jokowi regime known to be royal in building infrastructure.

President Jokowi considers accelerating the economy an important mission. This condition made him often view infrastructure development as a solution. Development is considered by Jokowi as an assessment to improve the economy.

The narrative made Jokowi no longer want a stalled project. He continues to move to realize stalled development from the previous regime. However, Jokowi could not work alone. He then appointed Basuki Hadimuljono as Minister of PUPR from 2024.

Jokowi said his job was only to build infrastructure. This trust makes Basuki move quickly. Moreover, Basuki is known as a reliable field worker. Projects such as toll roads, piers, and dams are done seriously.

At its peak, Jokowi gave a mandate to Basuki to think about the construction of a new capital city in Penajam Paser Utara, East Kalimantan. Basuki was not afraid. He considered Jokowi's wish as a challenge.

He tried to continue to be committed to carrying out development missions well. All work must be done professionally. This condition makes all work from the Ministry of PUPR supervised carefully. The work should not be delayed or stalled.

First, he (Jokowi) said to be able to continue infrastructure development as he conveyed in his vision. The second is to connect what we have built with special areas, tourism, production, industrial areas such as Brebes, Magetan, Ngawi. Also infrastructure development in tourist destination areas.

"He remembers very well Lake Toba, Mandalika, Borobudur, Labuan Bajo, and Kupang. He also had a time to source, it turned out to be very interesting. Basuki's commitment to work well and measurably has sacrifices. This condition made Basuki claim that he never took a day off as Minister of PUPR on November 14, 2019. He followed Jokowi's way of working, which never took a day off. Basuki admits that he works three shifts every day.

He was even on standby for 7x24 hours. This condition is because Jokowi can call and doesn't know the time when asking about the progress of the project and other critical things. He also chose to work better because he was used to it. Because, if he is on vacation, he often goes out of style.

"He (Jokowi) himself never took a day off. When I was on vacation. If I was on vacation for three weeks, I was confused. Had Mr. Jokowi ever planned to be in Jakarta for two weeks. I asked, do you really feel at home for two weeks? It turned out that a week I had invited me to go (blusukan)," Basuki said as quoted on the page.co, November 14, 2019.
