Fans Remember One Direction's 10 Years Of Career In The Music Industry

JAKARTA - Popular British boyband One Direction will celebrate 10 years of career on July 23 tomorrow. Despite having been on hiatus since 2015, Directioners (as One Direction fans) have not forgotten their idol.

On Wednesday, July 22, Directioners played up the hashtag # 10YearsOfOneDirection on social media. Fans came to write their memories with the idol. There are several incidents that become the memory of fans. VOI also summarizes some of them.

X-Factor Auditions

The five One Direction personnel met through an X-Factor competition audition on Friday, July 23, 2010. The five failed to qualify for the Boys category stage, but within 10 minutes of the event, Simon Cowell chose Niall, Liam, Louis, Zayn, and Harry to be combined in the group. The 10-minute decision has had a tremendous effect to date. The public also praised Cowell's ability to be observant of talent.

One Direction: This Is Us

In 2013, One Direction launched their first documentary entitled This Is Us. They are preparing for a concert at the O2 Arena, London for the Take Me Home world tour.

Not only preparation, this film also shows their story of becoming X-Factor finalists to becoming members of One Direction. Their struggle deserves thumbs up, because This Is Us presents the story behind the boyband with the most concert sales.

Contribution to Comic Relief

Do you know the song One Way or Another? The song was released in 2013 as a form of support for this boyband for Comic Relief. This song is a mix of Blondie's One Way or Another and The Undertones' Teenage Kicks.

The cheerful and fun atmosphere is depicted in the video clip. One Way or Another won first place on the UK music charts and was nominated for the Brit Awards.

Directioners would know that One Direction once held a 7.5 hour streaming event on YouTube. Not alone, they also invited Simon Cowell, Piers Morgan, Cindy Crawford, and Jerry Springer. They learn to be a model, perform, and interact with fans from various countries because of the competition that is being held.

Album Four, Last Album with Zayn

Productive in performing concerts and releasing albums, Four became Zayn's last album with the group that oversaw him. Their togetherness had to stop when Zayn Malik decided to leave the group in 2015. On March 25, 2015, through the One Direction Facebook account, Zayn chose to leave because he wanted to focus on his life.

With the lead single Steal My Girl, One Direction proved them to be the best boyband in the music era at that time. However, Zayn opted out in the middle of the On the Road Again world tour in Jakarta, Indonesia. This news was released shortly after the concert was over.

A few months after leaving, Zayn released the debut album Mind of Mine. The album was successful on the music charts and was sold successfully. One Direction also continued the group's career by releasing the album Made in the AM and became their last album before the vacuum.

They said they would be on hiatus for 18 months but in fact each member chose to go solo by moving to another label. But reportedly now One Direction will release an exclusive video that has never been released. Several members also shared ideas for a reunion that fans often come up with.
