The Big Four, Timo Tjahjanto's New Film Ready For Global Release

JAKARTA - Director Timo Tjahjanto will make a new film which is planned to be broadcast on Netflix through a new film entitled The Big Four.

According to the press release received today, 27 September, Timo is proud to have the opportunity to present his new story. "With my experience working with Netflix to take my work to a global level, I'm really excited to start this new project," he said.

Netflix also welcomes collaboration with this famous director. Malobika Banerji, Director of Content for Netflix Southeast Asia said, “We are delighted to be working with Timo, a talented and visionary director who produces amazing works.

"We believe Timo will tell a story that is very Indonesian but also universal," he continued.

Previously, Timo's film The Night Comes for Us became the first Indonesian original film to be broadcast on Netflix in 2018. This film has received positive appreciation from all over the world since its premiere.

The Night Comes for Us tells the story of a crime syndicate led by Ito (Joe Taslim). One day, Ito disappeared without a word.

When he returned, Ito faced various problems from the group and his enemies. Ito also meets his old friend, Arian (Iko Uwais) who is now a member of a mafia group in Macau.

The synopsis and cast of The Big Four have not been announced, but Timo leaked the film's premiere logo via social media. He mentioned that his latest film will be an action comedy genre, a different side from his previous work.

The Big Four will be released in 2022 on Netflix.
