JAKARTA - Dogs are not food campaigns are often encouraged, but the sale is still often done. Recently, the sale of dog meat at Pasar Senen surprised netizens. Dog meat sales occur in Block III Pasar Senen, Central Jakarta.

General Manager and Public Relations of Perumda Pasar Jaya, Gatra Vaganza, said the merchant was selling merchandise that did not comply with his permit. Initially, the merchant had a license to sell pork.

"So the kiosk is not in accordance with the designation in SK 269 of 2016 concerning the place of business. According to the license to use a place of business (SIPTU), the type of sale is pork (B2)," said Gatra in his statement, Monday, September 13.

Therefore, before it was revealed on social media, Pasar Jaya did not know that the trader also sold dog meat.

"Because this is indeed the type of merchandise that is not according to its designation and previously it was also not allowed to sell dog meat in the market area. This is because there was no such type of merchandise from the start,” he said.

Consumption of dog meat is still a controversy in Indonesia because some regions have menus that are cooked from dog meat. How to kill a dog that is about to be consumed is often sad.
