JAKARTA - A rare recording appears online. Contains the appearance of Rage Against The Machine frontman, Zach de la Rocha who plays guitar in his old hardcore band, Hard Stance.

The footage, full of energy, frenzy and scenes of stage diving, was shot in March 1990 at the Hollywood Live nightclub.

"The following footage was restored from (a version) of the Haworth family tapes and provided to hate5six.com for online digitization, restoration and preservation," reads a statement at the start of the video.

"The identity of the original recorder is unknown so far but will be clarified in the description if it is known." Check out the video below.

Hard Stance was originally formed in 1987 with De la Rocha on guitar and Eric Ernst on vocals. When Ernst left the band, De la Rocha took over the mic and formed the band Inside Out.

In 1991, De la Rocha formed Rage Against The Machine with Tom Morello, Tim Commerford and Brad Wilk. Apparently, the band's name came from the idea of an album title that was originally planned for Inside Out, but was never recorded.

Rage Against The Machine split in 2000, when De la Rocha claimed the group was no longer fulfilling the aspirations of the four of them collectively as a band.

"And from my point of view, it has damaged our artistic and political ideals," said the frontman at the time.

However, the band got up and reunited for a series of shows from 2007-2011 before breaking up again.

Late last year, RATM - as the band's name is usually abbreviated - announced their reunion once again with a series of comeback shows across the United States, including a headline performance at Coachella. However, their tour had to be postponed until 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The rock / rap supergroup Prophets of Rage, which featured members from Rage Against The Machine and Public Enemy, disbanded shortly after the announcement of the RATM reunion. The band stopped by in Indonesia in September last year as part of the 2019 Hodgepodge Festival.
