Umrah, Lukman Sardi Instead Get Guidance To Convert To Christianity

JAKARTA - The news of Lukman Sardi's conversion to religion was widely circulated several years ago. Many have questioned the reason for Lukman's decision to convert from Islam to Christianity. Finally, Lukman opened up his reasons while talking to Daniel Mananta.

Lukman Sardi explained that since childhood his parents taught Islamic values not in a fanatical way. Rather, how to be a good and true Muslim.

"It's the basics, how to pray five times a day, read the Koran. I also used to take lessons to read the Koran. But during the trip there was a question mark," said the 50-year-old actor quoted from the Daniel Mananta Network YouTube channel, Friday, 30 July.

"Honestly at that time the thing that made me ask was, there was a time when my religious teacher always mentioned, outside of this religion will go to hell. You know what I mean? Meanwhile, at that time I was in the process of searching. I want to know," he said.

When he was in doubt about his belief, Lukam got the opportunity for Umrah from Deddy Mizwar. "And I suddenly felt, how come I was offered this. Where is the situation asking (about belief). Do I have to go through it first before I find the answer, or maybe that's the answer," he said.

"Finally I told him (Pricillia, his wife now), I'm leaving. Finally, I'm doing it, as a Muslim. On the one hand, what I do, let God give the answer," he added.

During Umrah and wanted to kiss Hajar Lukman Sardi, he got emotional when he wanted to kiss Hajar Aswad. Lukman Sardi was angry because he couldn't even approach the Black Stone.

Suddenly what appeared in his mind was the word of love that his grandfather who embraced Christianity had taught him. Lukman Sardi then put the concept of love into practice. He invited people to pass by until Lukman unconsciously was close to the black stone.

Lukman did not waste that opportunity. He immediately kissed Hajar Aswad. Even Lukman said, he was given more time by the guards to kiss the black stone. Returning from Umrah, Lukman Sardi chose to embrace Christianity like his grandfather.
