JAKARTA - The production house Warner Bros. released a new trailer for the film Dune on Thursday, July 22. The film, directed by Denis Villeneuve, will premiere at the Venice Film Festival in September.
The trailer opens with Zendaya's character Chani trying to survive on the planet Arrakis. Then there is Paul (Timothee Chalamet) who dreams of Chani but does not understand the meaning of the dream.
Paul also traveled to Arrakis with his parents on the orders of the emperor. Unfortunately the plan did not go smoothly because of rivals from other kingdoms.
In addition to Zendaya and Chalamet, Dune also stars Jason Momoa, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Stellan SkarsgÄrd, Dave Bautista, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Chang Chen and David Dastmalchian.
After releasing the new trailer, Warner Bros. also shared character posters for the first time via social media.
Dune tells the story of Paul Atreides' journey to the most dangerous planet to ensure a future for him and his family.
Dune's story was adapted from the novel of the same name by Frank Herbert in 1965. Villeneuve's version of Dune became the second adaptation after the 1984 version directed by David Lynch.
Dune will hit theaters and streaming platforms on HBO on October 22. Check out the latest trailer here:
