To Dian Sastro, Dita SECRET NUMBER Hard Story Becomes A K-pop Idol

JAKARTA - SECRET NUMBER is a K-pop group that just debuted with Who Dis on May 19. Dita Karang, a member of this group comes from Indonesia. Being the first Indonesian woman to debut with a K-pop group, Dita spent time on Sunday, May 24 with actress Dian Sastrowardoyo about her struggle to debut through Instagram Live.

It turned out that the two of them had known them for a long time. Dian said that she went to Yogyakarta, Dita's hometown to shoot films such as Drupadi and 3 Doa 3 Cinta. Dian saw that Dita had grown up since she was a child because every time she went to Yogyakarta, Dian always stayed at the residence of Dita's family who was friends with Dian.

"Starting to think about it in high school. Because I finished high school and college, I decided. I'm starting to think that performing in general creates an adrenaline rush, ”explained Dita when choosing her main career.

Dian admitted, Dita is a figure who really likes dance from various kinds of dances from the region. In middle school, Dita talked about K-pop and dance covers where he liked YG Entertainment's group 2NE1.

Being a K-pop idol did not cross the mind of the girl born on December 25 at that time. But as he grew, Dita began to express his desire to become a performer with his parents.

Dita also attended AMDA (American Musical and Dramatic Academy), one of the largest art institutes in the United States.

After that, he participated in various auditions to enter as an agency trainee, one of which was VINE Entertainment. This agency managed Dita under SECRET NUMBER for two years.

Accepted, he went through various training processes starting from learning Korean, dancing and singing. In fact, Dita is still studying Korean every day after debuting as a K-pop idol.

Dita applied talking with SECRET NUMBER members and agency staff to improve Korean language skills. "I learned what I got from my teacher," said Dita when asked about her good voice when appearing as SECRET NUMBER.

As a K-pop idol, Dita wakes up at 3 or 4 in the morning to prepare to appear on an event. After that go to the television station and stand by waiting their turn. Whether pre-recording or live, they are still waiting even when they have finished performing.

Dita had to postpone his debut which was supposed to take place on May 26th. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, SECRET NUMBER only debuted on May 19.
