SM Entertainment Reveals Plans For NCT 127, NCT U, WayV, And NCT Hollywood

JAKARTA - The SM Entertainment agency just held the 2021 SM Congress today, June 29. Through the event, the agency announced a number of plans for artists to join. Through the video, Lee Soo Man as the founder of SM Entertainment spoke with Doyoung, Mark, and Kun from NCT.

Currently, the NCT group has four unit groups, namely NCT U, NCT 127, NCT Dream, and WayV. "After the promotion of NCT Dream's repackaged album, NCT 127 plans to release a studio album and repackage. WayV is working hard on activities after that. NCT U will also be greeting fans with a combination of new members this year, so I believe NCTzen (NCT's fan name) will enjoy it."

Kun as the leader of WayV also revealed that the group is planning to promote with a studio album. Previously, WayV made a comeback with the mini album Kick Back in March and continued with the duet Kun - Xiaojun in Back to You.

Lee Soo Man also mentioned the long-planned unit group NCT Hollywood. SM Entertainment will be working with MGM Television, which is behind the competition for Survivor and The Voice.

The two held an audition program in the United States to select new members who would debut in NCT Hollywood. Doyoung explained that Lee Soo Man will be producing the new members while the current NCT members are their mentors.

Then a video featured MGM director Mark Burnett saying, “21 lucky contestants were selected to join SM in Seoul, Korea and join a K-pop bootcamp there. The winner becomes NCT Hollywood and debuts in America.”
