Utilization of Lectures to Encourage the Spirit of the Young Generation to Create Peace and Stability

JAKARTA - Forming a young generation who have the spirit to create peace and stability can be done through the education sector. Especially in colleges or universities.

Quoted from the British Council, on Friday, July 10, 2026, lectures are very important to empower young generations to create peace and stability.

The lectures equip young people with the critical thinking, conflict resolution skills, and empathy needed to overcome divisions and build a sense of mutual respect.

Thus, the ERIA School of Government (SoG) held the ERIA-ASEAN AOIP Perdana Lecture, on Thursday, July 9, 2026. The Secretary-General of ASEAN, Y.M. Dr. Kao Him Hourn, was present as the main speaker.

The participants who attended were around 100 people, consisting of ambassadors, diplomatic representatives, stakeholders related to ASEAN, and academics from leading universities.

"We hope that this series of lectures can strengthen ASEAN's role in promoting inclusive dialogue, cooperation, and engagement," said ERIA President Tetsuya Watanabe in an official statement.

The inaugural lecture also marked the launch of the ERIA-ASEAN AOIP Lecture Series and was followed by a special symposium. All of these activities are carried out to encourage all parties, especially the younger generation, to be encouraged to create peace, stability, and prosperity in the region.

Not only that, through the series of lectures, it is also expected to strengthen research-based policy dialogue and encourage closer cooperation to face various challenges in the future.
