JAKARTA - As the culture of coffee grows, consumers are increasingly open to a variety of taste options, store concepts, and experiences enjoying coffee that suits daily needs.

Seeing the growth of the coffee industry to a lifestyle that continues to grow, various regional coffee networks are starting to look at Indonesia as a potential market. One of them is ZUS COFFEE which officially opened its first outlet at Puri Indah Mall, Jakarta, through a partnership with Kapal Api Group.

The presence of this first outlet is the first step in its expansion in Indonesia after previously developing in a number of Southeast Asian countries. The brand, which was established in Kuala Lumpur in 2019, now has more than 1,000 outlets spread across Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Brunei, and Thailand.

"Indonesia has a rich coffee drinking cultural heritage as well as a dynamic and growing coffee connoisseur. Through a partnership with Kapal Api Group, we are very excited to be in Jakarta with a local approach, while remaining faithful to our mission to make specialty coffee accessible to everyone, anytime and anywhere," said Group Chief Operating Officer ZUS COFFEE, Venon Tian.

To welcome local tastes, this coffee outlet introduces Es Kopi Teman Cerita, a drink developed specifically for Indonesian consumers.

Taking inspiration from the milk coffee character that is familiar to coffee lovers in the country, the drink has a more creamy texture with a strong coffee taste.

This blend was created by the Head of Coffee ZUS COFFEE, Terence Ho, together with Taufan Mokoginta, winner of the World Coffee Roasting Championship.

His presence also complements a number of ZUS COFFEE's flagship menus that have previously been known in regional markets, such as Spanish Latte and CEO Latte.

"As one of the leading cafe players in Southeast Asia, this outlet has built a strong reputation through innovative products, affordable specialty coffee, and seamless technology-based experiences. We believe this approach is very relevant for Indonesian consumers," said Kapal Api Group Chief Executive Officer, Robin Setyono.

As urban mobility increases, the need for practical and efficient services is also increasingly becoming a concern for coffee industry players.

Therefore, digital experience is one of the aspects that are also developed through the ZUS App application which allows customers to customize orders according to their preferences, ranging from sweetness levels to milk choices.

In addition to serving as a booking facility, the application also integrates payment methods and loyalty programs in one platform. This approach is part of an effort to provide a more practical coffee-enjoying experience for consumers.
