JAKARTA - The defamation case targeting the cosmetics entrepreneur and beauty factory owner, Heni Sagara, has entered a new phase.
The West Java Police's Cyber Investigation Directorate (Dittipidsiber) officially handed over two suspects and evidence to the West Java High Prosecutor's Office after the case file was declared complete (P21).
The two suspects, with initials FM and MSR, who were identified as buzzer figures from Garut Regency, must now prepare for the green table for their actions in spreading slander in the digital space.
Head of Public Relations of West Java Police, Kombes Pol Hendra Rochmawan, confirmed that investigators had carried out Phase II. This handover indicates that the responsibility for detaining the suspect has now been transferred to the prosecutor's office.
"Investigators have carried out Phase II, namely the submission of suspects and evidence to the West Java High Prosecutor's Office," said Kombes Pol Hendra Rochmawan in his statement, Sunday, April 19.
In an effort to uncover this case, the police have secured a number of electronic devices that are suspected of being used by the suspects to carry out their actions. The evidence includes mobile phones, laptops, and Macbook devices.
Not only that, investigators also seized a flash drive containing digital data and a number of official documents from the BPOM RI as part of strengthening the case file.
This firm legal step was taken after the suspects were suspected of carrying out an attack on Heni Sagara's honor with the motive of damaging the victim's business reputation in the public eye.
For their actions, FM and MSR were charged with Article 27 letter A in conjunction with Article 45 paragraph 4 of the Information and Electronic Transaction Law (ITE). The sanctions that await are not trivial.
"Both are threatened with a maximum prison sentence of 12 years and a fine of up to Rp. 400 million," said the West Java Police.
Although two field executors have been secured, the West Java Police emphasized that the investigation would not stop here. The police are committed to thoroughly investigating the intellectual actors or ringleaders who hired the services of the buzzers.
However, the development of potential other perpetrators will follow the course of the ongoing trial process.
"We will conduct further investigations to find the mastermind behind this case. However, in coordination with the Public Prosecutor (JPU), we are waiting for the verdict of the trial first as a basis for developing other perpetrators involved," concluded Hendra Rochmawan.
Previously, the West Java Regional Police's Dittipidsiber through AKBP Hotmartua Ambarita had explained that the main motive of the suspects was to attack Heni Sagara's credibility as a successful entrepreneur in the beauty industry in the country.
