JAKARTA - Kirana Larasati's brilliant achievement in breaking the deepest diving record was not easy to get. Behind it, there is a long struggle that drains energy, mental, to costs.
"The struggle is very long. From 2019 until now," said Kirana Larasati in Kebayoran area, South Jakarta, not long ago.
He humbly admitted that he was not the strongest or smartest diver.
"But believe me, I am the most reluctant to give up. The most stubborn," he said.
One of his biggest challenges is physical. He must be able to carry five diving tanks at once, each weighing up to 15 kilograms. He even got scolded by his mentor for often asking for help.
"I fell behind, it turned out that my hand muscles were not strong enough," he recalled.
Another challenge is mental and intellectual. As a technical diver, he must be able to do complex mathematical calculations to ensure his safety.
"I'm in school, maybe because I've been in school for a long time, right, I rarely train my brain for math," he admitted.
The preparation before diving often he did until late at night, while the next morning he had to wake up at dawn.
"Every time I prepare it can be up to 11, 12 o'clock at night," he said.
For information, Kirana Larasati broke the MURI record as the first Indonesian woman to do technical diving to a depth of 127 meters.
This achievement was appreciated by MURI, which was delivered directly by Yusuf Ngadri, Director of Operations of the Indonesian Record Museum (MURI).
"And we want to convey that this is the first women's diving record recorded by MURI. So before there has never been," said Yusuf Ngadri.
"So individually this is the first record that was then recorded and then immediately overturned in less than two months. Because yesterday in March, yes, so one March from January to March was immediately overturned with 127.8 meters," he added.
The representative of the agency that oversees Kirana Larasati, Ronny Irawan as the Producer of Beehave Artist Management, is ready to support every achievement of his artists, one of which is Kirana Larasati.
"Yes, BHAVE Artist Management definitely sees that every talent from our artists needs to be supported all-out, whether it's with moral support, whatever support is needed, we will continue to support to realize all of that," he concluded.
