V BTS Speaks Up After Message with Min Hee Jin as Proof of HYBE Trial

JAKARTA - V BTS spoke up after finding out that his message with Min Hee Jin was submitted as evidence in the trial of the feud between HYBE and former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin.

Min Hee Jin sued HYBE regarding the shareholder agreement and the exercise of a put option for the payment of the stock transaction. The court accepted the lawsuit and ruled that HYBE must pay 25.5 billion Korean won to Min Hee Jin worth 1.7 billion Korean won.

The court also rejected HYBE's lawsuit requesting confirmation of the termination of the shareholder agreement with Min Hee Jin.

One of the incriminating evidence is the KakaoTalk message between Min Hee Jin and V or Kim Taehyung from BTS. Min Hee Jin suspects that the group made by BELIFT LAB, ILLIT, uses a similar concept to NewJeans.

In the message that circulated, V revealed that he was talking about the alleged plagiarism that always appeared between ILLIT and NewJeans. Reportedly, V wrote, "Yes... I know. I also saw it and thought "Ah.. it's similar (ILLIT and NewJeans)"

Launching The Chosun, the court stated, "The statement is not about a specific individual item that claims that 'ILLIT imitates NewJeans', but rather the overall impression of ILLIT that is similar to NewJeans. This is an expression of opinion or simple value judgment and cannot be considered a statement of fact. "

After this news spread, V wrote a post on Instagram by sharing an article on Instagram Story.

"This is part of a private conversation that I share out of empathy because he is a good colleague of mine. I have no intention of siding with either one," V wrote on Friday, February 20.

"However, I feel surprised that this conversation was submitted as evidence without my consent," he said.

V BTS and Min Hee Jin collaborated for his debut album Layover starting from the visual concept and physical form of the album in 2023.

Meanwhile, HYBE, which disagreed with the first instance court's ruling, appealed to the Civil Court.
