Mahakarya Pictures officially introduced the trailer for the latest children's film in the science fiction (sci-fi) genre, Rainbow on Mars. Carrying the theme of space adventure, this film is scheduled to shake the country's cinemas right on the Lebaran holiday, March 18, 2026.

On one occasion, the production team revealed that the Rainbow on Mars is not just a normal spectacle. This film is an ambitious project that has been developed for five years with the touch of cutting-edge Extended Reality (XR) technology.

Mahakarya Pictures producer, Dendi Reynando, said the presence of this film was driven by his concern about the lack of viewing options for Indonesian families. He assessed that the children's film market is currently in an under supply condition.

"The rainbow on Mars was born because I saw that movies for children and families are still very limited. I want to provide an alternative so that Indonesian children have their own stories, which are relevant to their imagination," said Dendi in South Jakarta, not long ago.

Unlike the conventional children's film narrative, Pelangi di Mars places the child character as the main driver and problem solver. The Pelangi character, played by child actress Messi Gusti, is described as the first human born on Mars.

Stranded with her mother, Pratiwi, Pelangi embarks on a great mission: finding the mineral Zeolith Omega to overcome the clean water crisis that has hit Earth.

Director Upie Guava explained that his approach in this film is to restore children's right to imagine without limits.

"I want children to believe that there are no limits that cannot be broken. Here, children are the heroes," said Upie.

The production of this film was carried out at the DossGuavaXR Studio by involving 3D animation and interactive robots. However, Upie emphasized that advanced technology is only a tool to strengthen the main message: "Heroes are born of courage."

The excitement of the trailer launch event increased with the presence of a row of iconic robot voice actors, ranging from Kristo Immanuel, Gilang Dirga, Bimoky, Vanya Rivani, to Dimitri Arditya.

In fact, five original robots from the film appeared in the event location, providing an immersive experience for invited guests.

Kristo Immanuel also gave his appreciation for the visual quality and the story offered.

"Children and adult audiences in Indonesia deserve high-quality content, and Pelangi di Mars is here to meet those expectations," he concluded.

Prepare your time to watch the most spectacular space adventure of the year, starting March 18, 2026 across all Indonesian cinema networks.
