JAKARTA - The plaintiffs in the Adly Fairuz case strongly deny the allegation that their default lawsuit is unfounded.

The lawyer for the plaintiffs, Maman Ade Rukiman, emphasized that their lawsuit had a very strong legal basis.

"If the problem is based on not being based, it is impossible, what is the name of our lawsuit if it is not based," said Maman Ade at the South Jakarta District Court, Thursday, January 29.

According to him, the fact that the lawsuit has been accepted and tried by the court is an initial proof that their lawsuit is not a blank lawsuit.

He also dismissed the accusation of playing victim addressed to his client. For him, the legal steps they took were purely to seek justice.

"If the problem is playing the victim, please do it... but it is the community who can judge who is playing the victim," he said.

"We are seeking justice," he continued.

Maman reminded that in addition to the civil lawsuit, there was also a criminal legal process that had been running since June 2024. In this process, Adly Fairuz had even been summoned as a witness.

"And the sentence has been carried out... And he was also sued by two, he has become a witness, he has been summoned," he explained.

With these two related legal processes, they are very confident that their lawsuit is well-founded. He also ensures that in terms of legality, they will not be hasty.

"So we'll see who plays the victim. We'll follow the facts," he said.

"Our legality is also not stupid people who want to make a lawsuit without any legality," he concluded.
