JAKARTA - Imitation webtoon writer Park Kyung Ran expressed his feelings about the Korean drama adapted from his work.

Imitation is the latest Korean drama to air on KBS. This drama tells the life of K-pop idols in the entertainment industry.

The webtoon version itself was first released in 2014 and has been read by more than 480 million with a total of 4.4 million subscribers.

Despite being highly anticipated, the drama's ratings have steadily decreased since it was first broadcast. Last week, Imitation only managed to get 0.8 percent of the broadcast of episode three.

Apart from that, Park Kyung Ran admired the drama version of Imitation. "I feel enthusiastic and fascinated because (my work) is broadcast on television," he said, launching KBS's MyLove today, May 28.

In addition, he was also pleased with the casting choices of Jung Ji So, Lee Jun Young, Jiyeon, and Yunho. "I thought it was great when I found out who the cast was but after seeing the filming process, they were much more immersed in the character beyond my expectations."

Furthermore, Park Kyung Ran explained that the story is indeed focused on romance but overall, Imitation tells of a period of growth.

"Along with the stories of those in their 20s, I think the point that can be felt is the process by which they prepare for the future and the concerns that surround it."

Imitation is played by actresses Jung Ji So, Lee Jun Young, Jiyeon T-Ara, Yunho, Jongho, Seonghwa, and San from ATEEZ, Lim Nayoung ex PRISTIN, Hwiyoung and Chani SF9, Minseo, and others.

The Korean Drama Imitation can be watched every Friday on KBS and iQiYi.
