JAKARTA - Netflix's coming of age series, Boots, will not continue to season two. Although the series is popular, Netflix has not renewed the latest series.

Inspired by Greg Cope White's memoir The Pink Marine, the Boots series tells the story of Cameron (Miles Heizer) who impulsively joins the United States Marine Corps. There, he meets new friends in the middle of an impossible situation.

When it was released last October, the series received a positive response until the Rotten Tomatoes website gave it a high 90% for a series.

Even so, the series has been criticized for having LGBT (Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender) elements issued by the United States government. In a statement to Entertainment Weekly, the military did not compromise on the standard.

"The military does not compromise on standards to meet the agenda of ideology, unlike Netflix which produces garbage agendas for audiences and children," said Kingsley Wilson as the government secretariat.

Because of this comment, the Boots series was immediately watched and scored a larger audience. However, this did not make Netflix continue the plan for season two.

Netflix's cancellation was not due to waiting for the number of viewers to increase but a total cancellation.

Before Boots, The Recruit series was also announced to end with season two in March. This news made fans criticize Netflix.

The Tomb Raider animated series was also canceled by Netflix in September, a day after its live-action series was announced on Prime Video.
