JAKARTA - Successful as an actor, it turns out that Leonardo DiCaprio has no plans to become a director. He talked about this when discussing with director Martin Scorsese in a session A Year in TIME some time ago.
The 51-year-old actor admitted that he had never been interested in becoming a director because he couldn't compete with director Martin Scorsese.
"Some people ask if I want to be a director. I said, 'I never wanted to direct. I can't do anything like Martin Scorsese. Why?' said Leonardo DiCaprio.
Even so, he still learns the process of making a film when shooting several films. He is also interested in learning cameras in the future.
"You play these characters, try to get inside their souls as much as you can and I'm more than happy to be an observer... to see what (Scorsese) is doing behind the camera," he said.
"If I could go back to before, I would like to learn more about the process behind the camera," he said.

Leonardo DiCaprio and director Martin Scorsese collaborated on six songs and tell their creative process in working.
"This is our process of working together and we've been arguing for months, and learning about how to work on something that may not be the most obvious direction," DiCaprio explained.
"We're doing that in the new movie we're working on but this has been one of the most prominent learning processes," he said.
The two last worked together on the film Killers of the Flower Moon. Currently, they are working on the film What Happens at Night with Jennifer Lawrence. DiCaprio and Lawrence also met after the film Don't Look Up.
