JAKARTA - The Department of Culture and Tourism (Disbudpar) of Cirebon City, West Java, took advantage of the momentum of the West Java 2025 Cultural Week as an event to introduce a variety of typical Cirebon arts and expand the reach of regional cultural promotions to the wider community.

The head of Cirebon City Disbudpar, Agus Sukmanjaya, said that the activity which took place in Sangkala Square, Buana Keraton, Kasepuhan Cirebon on 12 December 14, 2025, became a strategic opportunity for Cirebon to highlight the wealth of coastal art.

"Alhamdulillah, in 2025, Cirebon City will have the honor of hosting it," Agus said in Cirebon, Friday.

He explained that the West Java Culture Week is a routine agenda of the West Java Province Tourism and Culture Office (Disparbud), which presents a variety of traditional arts every year from various regions.

Agus added that this activity not only displays traditional arts from other regions, but also provides space for Cirebon to show its artistic identity, including coastal dances and cultural works that are characteristic of the region.

"Actually, the content of this event shows the art of West Java culture and becomes socialization media to the public," he said.

Through this activity, Agus said, Cirebon artists and cultural communities can expand the network and increase collaboration with art actors from various regions.

He also emphasized that the appearance of the typical Cirebon art in the event is expected to encourage the younger generation to love and preserve ancestral culture.

Disbudpar, he continued, is ready to support the entire series of activities and facilitate the active participation of art actors in Cirebon.

"We want this momentum to be an effective means to show the strength of Cirebon culture to the public," he said.

Agus hopes that the promotion of culture through this activity will have a positive impact on the preservation of traditional arts while increasing the attractiveness of tourism in Cirebon City.

In addition to focusing on the promotion of art, Cirebon City Disbudpar is also proposing a number of Intangible Cultural Heritage (WBTB) to obtain national determination this year.

"For WBTB, we have proposed several and in the third week of December 2025 there will be a WBTB trial in Jakarta," he said.

He explained that this step is a form of the local government's commitment to maintaining sustainability and recognition of local cultural heritage.

"Our hope is that some proposed WBTBs can be raised to the national level and determined," he said.
