JAKARTA - Actress and singer Maudy Ayunda are ready to show a completely different side from herself in the film "Parang Perasuk".

He dared to take a very far role from his image so far, namely as a character who can be possessed by 10 animal spirits. Maudy admits that this role is outside her comfort zone.

"Of course, if you get a character that is outside the comfort zone, there are two feelings. One is afraid and excited," he said in the South Jakarta area, Thursday, December 11.

However, on the other hand, she also feels happy to have new space to learn and grow up as an actress. It was this challenge that attracted her.

To explore his role, Maudy practiced intensively with well-known choreographers, Eko Supriyanto. He studied movements from various animal spirits, such as buffalo, sharks, to butterflys.

The challenge is not only to memorize choreography. He is also required to be able to obey and show spontaneity when he is "hit".

"I really have to dive into the animal spirit," explained Maudy.

He must be able to display expressions of loss of consciousness, but at the same time remain vigilant so as not to collide with other dancers.

Apart from dancing, Maudy also had to shoot without footwear throughout the film. "Maudy, as long as the film, the conditions must be curated," said director Wregas Bhanuteja.

This totality even makes him have to walk on difficult terrains like rocks. Everything he does is to bring Laksmi's character to life.

Film Para Perasuk stars the current generation of A-List Indonesian films: Angga Yunanda, Maudy Ayunda, Bryan Domani, and Chicco Kurniawan. As well as partnering with international superstar Anggun, who made his debut for the Indonesian feature film. Soon to be released in Indonesia.
