Cillian Murphy Targeted To Join The Sequel 28 Years Later

JAKARTA - The 28 Years Later film franchise will continue with its third season. Different from the sequel, actor Cillian Murphy is now targeted to join the third film.

Quoting Deadline, Murphy is being offered to star in the franchise after playing his first film, 28 Days Later.

Alex Garland as the scriptwriter is also said to have joined this film. Likewise with director Danny Boyle who previously stated that he would direct a third film.

28 Years Later aired in January and earned $151 million, a large number for the franchise after 20 years.

Boyle expressed his desire to work on three 28 Years Later films, but the studio house only gave him two. The 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple film was then directed by Nia DaCosta.

Danny Boyle also praised DaCosta's direction in the film by saying, 'I remember he said 'I don't want to make Danny Boyle's film. He's very clear about it. He made his own film and the results were strong.'

Cillian Murphy started his career in the 28 Days Later film and started starring in various Hollywood films. Murphy is confirmed to appear in the film The Bone Temple with little role.

In the 28 Years Later film, Murphy did not act but became an executive producer. He reportedly appeared in the next film even though Murphy and Sony had not responded to the news.
