Prilly Latuconsina Refuses To Play Horror Before Completing Danur Film: The Last Chapter

Prilly Latuconsina returns to horror with her latest film, Danur: The Last Chapter. This MD Pictures production marks the final chapter in Risa Saraswati's story.

Seven years after the third film, Danur: The Last Chapter tells the final chapter of Risa (Prilly Latuconsina) with her mysterious friends.

"This is something new from Danur, and we're very excited. More to come. I want to thank Prilly, Risa, and Danur. We're making a comeback after the third dance in 2019, and this is the finale. We're all supported by new actors," said producer Manoj Punjabi at a press conference on Wednesday, December 10.

Prilly Latuconsina, who has played Risa for almost a decade, is proud to have been appointed with this role. Danur is Prilly's first horror project and her first box office hit.

"The character of Risa has been with me for 10 years, from Danur 1 until today, and as you may know, I haven't taken on another horror film in 10 years. The reason is personal; Risa and I are very close, so I feel like I'm fighting the character by not finishing it," said Prilly Latuconsina.

"Danur opened many doors in my life, meeting friends, and starring in horror films. It's sad to say this is the last chapter, but thank you for waiting, and thank you to Mr. Manoj for not replicating Risa," he said.

Prilly herself felt that she was already closely assisted with the character of Risa, so she chose to end the film Danur before accepting the offering of a horror film.

"Many people have ended me scripts, but I have to finish Danur's journey. Every time I go to the mall, fans ask when Danur will be released. On social media, when I post about another film, someone asks when Danur will be released," Prilly said.

The film Danur: The Last Chapter is planned to be released in 2026.
