Ketamine Supplier Doctor To Matthew Perry Sentenced To 30 Months In Prison

JAKARTA - Ketamine supplier doctor to actor Matthew Perry, Salvador Plasencia was sentenced to up to 30 months in prison federally. He was proven to have given the actor a contaminant a few weeks after Perry overdosed.

Citing LAMag, Plasencia apologized to Perry's family before the verdict was read out at the Los Angeles trial. He admitted he was guilty of breaking his promise as a doctor who was supposed to look after the actor.

"I thwarted Perry. I failed his family," said Salvador Plasencia.

"I should have protected him," he said.

Plasencia was found guilty last July of being proven to have supplied ketaminas to Matthew Perry four times. He also did not tell the Friends actor about the use of the drug dose.

Previously, prosecutor Ian Yanniello demanded three years in prison. Judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett rejected Plasencia's argument that he intended to restore Perry's depression.

"He (Plasencia) does not provide medical services, he is a drug dealer in a white suit," said Ian Yanniello.

I don't feel it's true. You exploit Perry's addiction for your personal gain," the judge said in the trial.

During the transaction, Plasencia received 55 thousand US dollars or equivalent to Rp915 million for the cost of contaminants and other things. Meanwhile, four other suspects have not been convicted by the court.

Matthew Perry passed away in 2023 after drowning due to a ketamine overdose. It was revealed that his closest people were involved in supplying and consumption.
