Aero Sport Fest 2025 Becomes A New Magnet For Tourism In Tanjung Lesung

JAKARTA - The Tanjung Lesung tourist area has again attracted the attention of tourists this weekend. The destination with the status of a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) is crowded with visitors who come to enjoy beach panoramas, exciting holiday activities, and resort facilities that are the main attraction.

The atmosphere is getting more and more lively when Salakantara Airport, which is located within a tourist area, is the center of aerospace activities that provide a different experience for travelers.

In the midst of the bustle of tourists on vacation, Tanjung Lesung's sky is filled with various aviation attractions as part of the Aero Sport Fest 2025, making this area not only offer coastal charm, but also attractive entertainment that enriches a variety of tours in Banten.

Around 500 visitors then gathered in the airport area to witness a series of air performances. In addition, there are also seven paramotor attractions maneuvering from the west, followed by aeromodelling aircraft and drones showing chases in the sky.

The atmosphere around the hangar was suddenly boisterous by applause and cheers from the audience. The annual festival, which was held by the Indonesian Air Force (Pusterau) Territorial Center with Tanjung Lesung, was again present with a wider concept.

Not only featuring aerospace sports, but also presenting creative communities such as Basecamp XAuto, the Indonesian Campervan Community, and various MSME players to enliven the weekend.

In the midst of a calm resort feel, not a few families take advantage of this event as a vacation opportunity. Children run around the festival area, while parents enjoy the beach atmosphere and occasionally look to the sky following every attraction.

"This festival is not just an entertainment event. But also to grow people's love for the world of the aerospace, through educational, recreative and productive activities," said Head of the Indonesian Air Force Territorial Center (Kapusterau), Marsma TNI Tjahja Elang Migdiawan, ST, MM, accompanied by Pusterau staff at the hangar of Salakanagara Airport.

He also explained the reason for choosing Tanjung Lesung as the location of the event, because this area was able to unite aerospace activities with tourism and community activities.

"I would like to thank Tanjung Lesung for facilitating this activity. So that this activity can be carried out properly, safely, and smoothly," he said.

Tjahja Elang Migdiawan revealed that the interest of the younger generation in the aerospace world is increasing. This can be seen from the large number of young people involved in this year's attractions. He also discussed with Tanjung Lesung's management about the opportunity to include aerosports as extracurricular at SMA 2 President (Boarding School), from paragliding to paramotors.

"(Why is that) We want this activity to be a forum for building a safe and pleasant aerospace potential," he explained.

He also highlighted the importance of licensed coaching sports pilots, as well as the presence of aviation officials such as Captain Meggy from PPI Curug and Captain Win Win Winarso from DKPPU to encourage a more targeted SPL (Sport License) process.

In addition to air attractions, festivals provide various child-friendly activities and general visitors: kindergarten color competitions, elementary school drawing competitions, and photography competitions. All winners were announced directly on the same day, adding to the excitement of the event.

The campervan community also exhibits unique vehicles, from motorbikes to caravans. "This is an interesting combination, combining tourism, aerospace, and the community," said Jaka, Chairman of the Indonesian Campervan Community.

President Director of Tanjung Lesung, Poernomo Siswoprasetijo, welcomed the implementation of the Aero Sport Fest 2025. He emphasized the commitment of this region to continue to support the development of the aerospace world in Indonesia.

The Salakakara Airport Runway, which has reached 600 meters, is planned to be extended to 200 '400 meters.

"And currently the Salakakara Airport community (which is practicing) continues to grow, including the Indonesian Flying Club, then the Bandung Flying Club, then other Flying Club schools," he said.

Tanjung Lesung's Director of Operations, Kunto Wijoyo, added that activities at the airport are getting busier from week to week. "Every week, someone will land here from various parties," he said.

Kunto is optimistic that Salakanagara Airport can develop into a large aerospace sports center. After the hangar and airstrip development phase, now the focus of development has shifted to expanding aerosport activities and increasing facilities.

"There is a possibility that next year another hangar will be built as part of the development towards the center of aerospace activities," he said.

As a SEZ (Special Economic Zone), Tanjung Lesung continues to open up opportunities for cooperation, ranging from flying schools, aerospace communities, outdoor event organizers, to family tours.

"Earlier I spoke with Kapusterau, and they are ready to encourage the development of aerospace in Tanjung Lesung. This is very promising, as well as a form of our commitment that we want Tanjung Lesung to be a comfortable place for anyone who wants to do activities (exercise) at sea, land, or air," concluded Kunto.
