Deputy Minister Of Creative Economy Hopes Indonesia's Musical Potential Reaches Global Stagers

JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Creative Economy / Deputy Head of the Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf), Irene Umar hopes that Indonesian theater and musical talents can penetrate the international stage. One way that can be pursued is with the 2025 Indonesian Musical Festival (FMI).

The Indonesian Musical Festival presents a space that collaborates with talented talents in the country. Talents that appear from Jaksical can perform from the heart and every appearance always touches the heart. This is only one of 12 musical communities that have been selected and brought the Indonesian musical stage to life," Irene Umar said in a press statement, in Jakarta, citing ANTARA on Sunday, November 16.

According to him, Indonesia has wealth in terms of stories. Thus, this is a profitable asset for talents to be able to explore the wealth of the story which can be brought to the international stage.

Not only strong in terms of storytelling, musical theaters in Indonesia also have other positive sides such as talents, and the composition of original songs made.

The sub-sector of performing arts has begun to be trusted by the public as an alternative form of entertainment that represents the feelings of the audience. Deputy Minister of Creative Economy hopes that collaboration in sharing the stage between communities through FMI 2025 can unravel the existence of musical theaters even further to the global level.

"We have to show the world that Indonesian musicals are love-based and always appear from the heart. FMI can bring artists and musical communities closer by providing more global performance," he continued.

In this event, the elected Jaksial appeared in the 2025 FMI after going through a curation process from 87 communities that registered the original script.

Of course, this interactive performance from Jaksical became a significant stepping stone in the musical theater industry in Indonesia to provide an unforgettable experience and become a deep inspiration for the audience.

According to producer from Jaksical, Kevin Aldrian Musical When to Marriage: Extended was born from the unrest of many people on questions that sound simple, but keep the pressure that comes from family, environment, even from within yourself.

Through this musical, we hope that everyone who watches can have a new understanding, fresh hope, and the strength to make peace with themselves, their families, and the journey of life that is being undertaken. Since 2022, FMI has become the title of the celebration of the talents of the performing arts sub-sector who are boisterous and always awaited by creative and creative fighters.

FMI 2025 presents 12 musical communities from Jakarta, Bali, Surabaya, and Solo to show talent in 3 TIM arenas such as the Small Theater, Great Theater, and the Wahyu Sihombing Theater for 3 days.
