North West Finger Tindik Is In The Spotlight, Kim Kardashian's Custody Pattern Is Questioned

JAKARTA - Kim Kardashian's daughter and Kanye West, North West are again stealing the public's attention. The 12-year-old girl shows off a piercing in her finger which is classified as a high risk, something that is considered unsafe for children her age.

In the photo uploaded on social media, North shows his hands decorated with several jewelry, including two dermal piercings that stick directly to the skin of the finger. One finger appears to be pinned with two silver gems, while the other finger has a blue stone in the middle.

Reporting from the Daily Mail, the piercing was first seen when North accompanied her mother in Rome last August. Unlike ordinary piercings, dermal piercings are done by inserting a small anchor under the skin to hold the jewelry back to stick.

But this procedure is not without risk. Experts warn that piercings in the hand area are prone to infection, body rejection, to nerve damage, as this section is often exposed to dirt and is moving a lot.

According to Healthline, this dermal type of piercing carries a high risk of complications and requires extra care. No wonder many piercing studios refuse to serve customers under the age of 18 for this type of piercing.

North photos quickly went viral on Reddit and sparked debate among netizens. Many netizens questioned Kim and Kanye's parenting for allowing their child to undergo risky procedures.

"This is what happens when parents want to be friends with their children, not wise adults," wrote the netizen.

"I can't imagine allowing a 12-year-old child to do this kind of piercing," said another netizen.

Some netizens also highlighted the potential dangers.

"The risk is too high, such as infection, refusal, and nerve damage. 12-year-old children are not mature enough to treat piercings like this," said a netizen.

Trist'n Peterson, owner of Brightside Body Art studio in Montana said this kind of piercing has never been done to minors, even adults are rarely recommended.

"Jari is too often used and easily stuck. So the possibility of failure is very large," he explained.

It is not yet known where North carried out the piercing or whether Kim or Kanye gave permission directly. Some fans speculate the procedure may have been carried out outside the United States, as most studios in the US do not allow minors to do dermal piercings.

This isn't the first time Kim Kardashian has been criticized for her son's style. Previously he also drew criticism for letting North wear a corset while on vacation in Rome.

In an interview on the Call Me Daddy podcast, Kim admitted that she was still studying as a mother.

"Sometimes I think, okay, we won't use that anymore. Unfortunately, the mistake happened in front of the world," he said.

Kim added North usually looks tomboy, but occasionally wants to experiment with his friends' style.

"If he wants to have blue hair, let it be. It makes him happy. I don't want to turn off his creativity," said Kim.

Even so, many think that this North style experiment is too extreme for children of their age. In the midst of pros and cons, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have yet to give an official statement regarding their daughter's piercings.

But one thing is certain, at the age of 12, North West has become a young person who is full of confidence and is not afraid to express himself, although his steps often lead to controversy.
